Telluride Skatepark is made entirely of smooth concrete. There is a metal flat bar and curved rail as well, but every other skateable surface is made of concrete.
How Busy Does It Get?
Telluride Skatepark gets busy because of its popularity and small size relative to other major parks in the state, such as Denver Skatepark. However, you rarely must navigate massive crowds at Telluride Skatepark. Telluride, Colorado only has a population of approximately 2,595 residents, so the skatepark doesn’t see the same traffic as parks in major cities.
Is Telluride Skatepark Beginner-Friendly?
Telluride Skatepark is a beginner-friendly park, and none of the obstacles are too extreme. However, you must have basic knowledge about stance, foot placement, and weight distribution to skate at the park. The small street course is the best for beginners.

The History of Telluride Skatepark
Telluride Skatepark came about after the town designated a budget to build a skatepark within Town Park. The town originally contracted Grindline to build the park. Grindline is one of the best skatepark construction companies in the world, and they built the original bowl at Telluride Skatepark. Telluride Skatepark stayed small and simple for nearly 16 years until it expanded.
The town budgeted another $750,000 to build a major addition at Telluride Skatepark in 2021. This addition included a large flow bowl and street course section. After reopening in 2022, Telluride Skatepark was recognized as one of the best skateparks in Colorado.
